ADAZI, Latvia (LifeSiteNews) — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered a lecture on “climate change” and disinformation to troops in Latvia just weeks after reports revealed his government has failed to provide adequate supplies to service members stationed overseas.

On July 10, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) troops stationed on a NATO mission in Latvia where he explained his government’s role in combatting “climate change” and “disinformation” in Canada.

“Climate change is having a real destabilizing and negative impact with more and more frequent extreme weather events at home,” said Trudeau.

“Which is one of the reasons why Canada is stepping up to build the Centre of Excellence for Climate Security in Montreal. That’s one of the announcements we’re going to be making tomorrow at the NATO summit,” he added.

“We’re also dealing with the hangover of the pandemic that knocked us around as economies but also knocked us around as individuals put a lot of stress on families of people trying to figure out a way through,” Trudeau continued. “Add the extra challenges of social media and levels of misinformation and disinformation.”

While Trudeau and his government are focused on fighting “climate change” and “disinformation,” Canadian soldiers in Latvia are struggling to meet their basic needs as the Trudeau government seems more concerned with political correctness than military readiness.

In fact, a recent report revealed that Canadian soldiers deployed in Latvia have been left to buy their own military gear while the Canadian government has provided recently arrived Danish soldiers with supplies.

“In general, it was concerning verging on embarrassing to see the differences in issued soldier equipment between us and the Danes,” Lt. Col. Jesse van Eijk, the Canadian battle group commander in Latvia, revealed in a May 12th email.

The Canadian military outpost in Latvia of 1,500 soldiers, including more than 700 Canadians, is also lacking modern anti-tank weapons, systems to counter drones and a short-range air defense system to guard against helicopters and attack jets.

Canadian soldiers fighting to defend their homeland were similarly abandoned this year in Poland when the Trudeau government declined to pay for their meals due to a massive backlog of reimbursements slated for other soldiers.

Despite publicly assuring NATO that Canada intends to provide military funding, online records show that Trudeau admitted Canada will never meet the military alliance’s defense-spending target.
