October 20, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – A pastor hosted a press conference in front of the Dallas County Court Friday in support of a father who is trying to save his seven-year-old son from being “transitioned” into a girl.

Jefferey Younger and Dr. Anne Georgulas are in a custody and conservatorship battle over their twin sons, James and Jude. James presents as a girl called “Luna” at his mother’s home and as a boy with his father. Georgulas has enrolled James in school as a girl since kindergarten. Mr. Younger alleges Dr. Georgulas is forcing James to present as a girl. He is worried about James undergoing chemical castration or a full medical “transition.”

Pastor Stephen Broden, the founder and Senior Pastor at Fair Park Bible Fellowship Church, said the case is an attempt to “codify gender ideology that [has] been proven to hurt children.”

He noted the American College of Pediatricians has urged legislators, teachers, and other leaders “to reject all policies that condition children to accept as normal a lifestyle of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex.”

Again citing the American College of Pediatricians, Pastor Broden continued, “conditioning children into believing a lifestyle of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex is normal and helpful is child abuse.”

Mr. Younger claims Dr. Georgulas is abusing James by affirming him as a girl.

Pastor Broden continued, “We are foursquare against this effort to have this young boy mutilated into ‘becoming’ a girl when he is by biological design, divine design a boy.”

“We are concerned that our culture is moving rapidly away from its Judeo-Chrisitian heritage  and embracing an ideology that is devoid of the divine and the definitions God gives to us through the word of God.”

Constance Stanto, a Texas grassroots activist, urged “legislators to heed this case.” She highlighted the case as a prime example of the need for 50-50 parenting.

Finally, Ms. Jill Glover, a licensed professional counselor, spoke about the harmful impacts of gender ideology.

“Gender ideology seeks to replace biological reality with an artificial social construct that is promoting unscientific, untested, and life-altering procedures for children,” Ms. Glover stated.

“There are no long-term studies that validate these treatments [as] safe or effective…these treatments pose serious and irreversible consequences to children’s health.”

Ms. Glover called on Texas legislators “to ban ‘transition’ puberty-blocking hormones, opposite sex hormone treatemnt and sex reassignement surgery for minors.”

“Our society is truly descending into madness,” Ms. Glover stated.

In an interview with LifeSiteNews, Ms. Glover shared her concerns about the spread of transgender ideology.

“We are hearing that there are lots of different kinds of genders. To try to embrace some other identity is not healthy.”

Ms. Glover reiterated the same risks associated with cross-sex hormone therapy that expert witnesses Dr. Levine and Dr. Hruz outlined the previous day in court. Ms. Glover spoke about the increased risk of mental health issues, higher rates of suicide, and decreased life expectancy for those who pursue transgenderism.

“We are gravely concerned, not only for the health of this little boy, but for other children who may be in this predicament.” Ms. Glover told LifeSiteNews.

There were about 15 people present at the press conference and many remained to pray for a positive outcome for the trial.

The trial continues Monday.
