BUFFALO, New York (LifeSiteNews) —A Democrat state assemblyman says he will propose a bill allowing insurance companies to deny COVID-related coverage to unvaccinated clients.

On Tuesday New York State Assemblyman Patrick Burke (D-Buffalo) posted to Twitter his plan to introduce a bill that will allow insurance companies to discriminate against their clients based on their vaccination status when it comes to coverage for COVID-related medical costs.

“I’m introducing a bill that allows insurance providers to deny coverage for Covid related treatment to those who refuse to be vaccinated,” wrote Burke.

“Do your part or pay your own way. Freedom isn’t free.”

Burke’s advocacy for a medical apartheid system met a social media backlash, as multiple users reminded him of  previous tweets he had made advocating for free healthcare for every citizen.

“How fr**n tragic that a little girl has to sell lemonade to pay for her brain surgery. This isn’t a feel good story, it’s a story of national shame. Every American should have a right to quality healthcare,” Burke stated in March, in response to a story of a 7-year-old Alabama girl who fundraised to cover her medical bills.

Prominent journalist Glenn Greenwald mocked Burke to his almost 2 million followers, writing, “A bill from a Democratic state legislator in New York to empower insurance companies to deny coverage to people, based in progressive compassion and empathy.”

“Yes. Health care is not a right. Next up make fat people have to lose weight to get healthcare,”   quipped “disaffected liberal” journalist Tim Pool sarcastically.

Burke doubled-down in response to his detractors stating, “Again, not a denial of care, but an option to deny coverage. The cost of people choosing not to be vaccinated is extraordinary. Choosing to be vaccinated isn’t a virtue, it’s the only decent thing to do.”

Regardless of Burke’s claim that getting the shot is a pre-requisite to decency, while many choose not to get vaccinated because the shots are experimental and have been linked to tens of thousands of deaths and millions of injuries, there are those as well who reject the injections on moral grounds, as all the currently available shots have unequivocal links to abortion

While the piece of legislation has yet to be officially proposed, Burke says that the discriminatory bill is in the early stages and is being drafted.
