WATERLOO, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) — A Canadian student from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario has taken social media by storm after posting photos of him wearing comical and bizarre face coverings as a way to protest the school’s unscientific mask mandate.
Starting roughly two weeks ago, Kamil Bachouchi, a 21-year-old philosophy student from Wilfrid Laurier, began poking fun at the mask mandate, whether it was by wearing a bucket over his head or wearing a mask in an amusing way.
“Today’s mask: a bucket on my head,” tweeted Bachouchi last Thursday.

Since the start of the fall semester, Wilfrid Laurier has had a mask mandate in place for students and staff while in class. The university is one few the few non-medical places in Canada that currently mandates masks.
In a tweet posted on November 1, which is now pinned to his profile, Bachouchi compared mask mandates to extreme communist rules in Communist China.
“Just another day at the incredible Wilfrid Laurier University, where students are forced to wear masks in class! This is absolutely ridiculous. This isn’t China, we’re Canadian and we shouldn’t be forced to wear face condoms in rooms full of healthy 20-year olds,” wrote Bachouchi.

Bachouchi has noted, as he said to True North, that his fight against mask mandates is what he “deemed the best course of action to open peoples’ eyes, while waiting to garner the widespread support to initiate a school-wide refusal of the mask mandates.”
According to Bachouchi, there is only one class in which he needs to wear the mock masks in, as the teacher in this class said anyone who does not comply with the rule will be kicked out.
He noted that most teachers do not care if students wear masks or not, saying that the overall face covering policy does not seem to be enforced.
On November 3, Bachouchi wrote on Twitter that he was getting a lot of support for what he was doing in trying to fight back against the mask mandate at his university.
“I’ve gotten a lot of support for showing what @Laurier is doing to students. I appreciate it. I intend to wear a different ‘face-covering’ every class until the University removes the authoritarian measures. Today, I‘ll be wearing a Ziploc bag on my face,” tweeted Bachouchi.

Bachouchi noted that his mask revolt will not affect any change if he gets “kicked out” of class, and that that “Having my loud-mouth in every class, is the way to have the other side listen, and see that we’re not monsters.”
He noted in a November 10 tweet, “If the students stand together, they will HAVE to withdraw their dystopian mandate. I encourage anyone who knows a student at Laurier or Waterloo to take the mask off, and stand in unity for their Charter Rights and Freedoms.”

“I’m evaluating my options with the goal of finding the best way rally the troops and get the masses to take refuse this authoritarian measure altogether,” wrote Bachouchi.
Some other Ontario universities, such as the nearby University of Waterloo, also recently mandated masks as of November 4.
On Monday, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kieran Moore said he now recommends people go back to wearing masks, and even said parents should wear one around their kids if they are sick.
In recent days, public health officials in Canada and the United States have been ramping up fear on what they are dubbing a “tripledemic” of COVID, flu, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
Reacting to the resurgence of mask mandates and recommendations, Dr. Joseph Mercola noted, “As predicted, ‘health experts’ are starting to call for voluntary indoor masking again, even though all the evidence garnered over the past three years confirms what we already knew in 2020, which is that face masks do nothing to stop viral infections.”
“Both the flu vaccine and the COVID shots are proven ineffective, yet the recommendation to get them continues. And this season, you’re expected to get both,” said Mercola.
