(LifeSiteNews) –  Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) served a complaint on Tuesday against a Miami bar after films showed it puts on sexually explicit drag shows in front of young children.

Earlier in July, Libs of TikTok tagged DeSantis as it tweeted a video showing a drag queen with exposed breasts and a money-stuffed thong lead a girl under the age of five, by hand, in a display for the “R House” bar in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami.

The restaurant’s menu shows it offers a kids’ brunch special for 12 and under, the cost of which includes R House’s “fabulous” drag show.

DeSantis shared during a Wednesday press conference that when it was found that the drag shows catered to children, the DBPR “looked under Florida law and were able to initiate this procedure that would basically take away the liquor license for that.”

According to Breitbart, the DBPR complaint cites films of sexually explicit shows shared to social media, as well first hand observations. In one photographed incident, a child “between the ages of ten and twelve” was “seen recoiling and turning away in her seat” as a scantily clad performer “climbed on the back of the child’s bench, squatted, and gyrated a couple of feet above the child’s head.”

“We said wait a minute, having kids involved with this is wrong,” said DeSantis at a press conference on Wednesday. “That is not consistent with our law and policy in the state of Florida.”

“And it is a disturbing trend in our society to try to sexualize these young people,” he added. “That is not the way you look out for our children. You protect children. You do not expose them to things that are inappropriate.”

DeSantis noted that “it used to be” that “the kids are off limits…And we’ve got to get back to that. And I can tell you in Florida, we are going to make sure that happens.”

Breitbart shared that R House has 21 days to respond to the complaint. If the bar is found to be in violation of local laws and codes, it could then lose its liquor license, effectively putting it out of business.

Sexually provocative “drag queens” performing in front of children during “drag story hours” and at bars — and even involving them in their performances — have been under heavy fire as drag shows and events for kids have been increasingly pushed by “progressives.” The left-wing Salon.com recently published an op-ed titled, “Drag is not dangerous: How exposing your kids to drag performance can be a good thing.”
