U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise

SIGN THE PETITION: Send a 'get well' card to congressman shot for pro-life views

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 7, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – Rep. Steve Scalise, R-LA, who was shot in the hip by a leftist nearly a month ago, is back in the intensive care unit in “serious” condition.

He was moved back to intensive care at MedStar Washington Hospital Center “due to new concerns for infection,” his office announced. The hospital bumped Scalise's state to “fair condition” in late June.

Just this week, Rep. Phil Roe, R-TN, said Scalise is finally able to walk and get out of bed. “He's not able to eat yet, but he is getting better,” he said.

The man who shot Scalise, James T. Hodgkinson, had a hit list of conservative, pro-life congressmen. Hodgkinson died after a shoot-out with police. He had been a volunteer for Bernie Sanders.
